Canon Pixma TR4522 Printer Reviews– The Canon PIXMA TR4522 wireless Printer is designed for light family and household based office. So it could be expected for an all-in-one at this price, it is somewhat slow and costly to use, but comes with a set of powerful features and exceptionally prints well, especially photos. Also, as a few other printers I’ve seen recently, it includes support for Alexa Amazon, allowing for hands-free printing. It is a powerful contender for home Office users who need a cheap AIO for light-Duty printing, copying, and scanning.

Given its speed of print rating (which I will discuss below), reduced paper capacity, and high running costs (also coming), should not rely on this AIO for more than a few hundred pages each month; Although it can certainly churn out more now and then you should need to.

We tested TR4522 over USB from our standard Intel Core i5-equipped PC testbed running Windows 10 Professional. TR4522 printed the standard 12-page Microsoft Word test document at the 8.5 ppm rate. That’s slower than any other printer entry level mentioned here.

Then, we printed a set of very complex Acrobat, Excel, and PowerPoint business documents, consisting mainly of embedded graphics and embedded photos, and then combined those results with those from printing the 12-text document Pages in the previous test, to come up with a score of 4.5 ppm for printing our entire suite. This score fits behind TR7520 with a negligible 0.2 ppm, and is 0.1 ppm faster than Brother MFC-J497DW, 1.9 ppm before OfficeJet 3830, and 2.9 ppm slower than WF-2860.

Finally, TR4522 printed our 4-by-6-inch instantaneous test at an average of 58 seconds, which was roughly middle-of-the-Road (and tied with G4520) for this input-level AIOs group.

The photo output is not the only thing that this little AIO is doing well, though. The text in our test documents has come out well in shape and very legible, even at smaller sizes up to about 6 points. Our business graphics look terrible also with evenly flowing gradients, smooth, and distinct fillings, well delimited hair lines (strokes less than 1 point thickness). As usual, I have no complaints about this output PIXMA.

High running costs
Granted, most input-level models cost a lot to use, but at 8.7 cents for monochrome pages and 18.7 cents for color pages, TR4522 is one of the most expensive I’ve seen. Brother MFC-J497DW’s running costs are, for example, 2.7 cents less on the monochrome page and 2.2 of smaller cents for color prints, and Epson WF-2860 is, at 3.2 cents less for black fingerprints and more inexpensive 2.4 for color, slightly more Good.

For real relief, when you subscribe to the HP Instant ink program, OfficeJet 3830 can deliver both black pages and colors, even photos, as small as 3.5 each. These are terrible economies, but while the 3830 prints quite well; Its quality of photo output cannot touch TR4522 ‘s.

Home-Companion Printing
Canon PIXMA TR4522 is a low-volume printer, period. Nothing makes this clearer than its running costs in the sky, and, of course, the small paper input tray and slow print speeds. What it’s going for, though, is exceptional print quality, voice automation, the ability to edit photos on your mobile device, and automatic two-sided printing, which is not a given in this price range.

If you print less than a few hundred pages each month, high running costs should not be so big of a deal. If you don’t need excellent photo quality or automatically duplexing you with TR4522, and you want to save a bit on consumables, Brother MFC-J497DW and Epson WF-2860 are both good alternatives that won’t hit your wallet as hard in the long run. (If you print thousands of pages per month, you should spend more in front of a model like PIXMA G4210, which will end up costing you a lot less on the road.) Otherwise, TR4522 is a large small printer for use of light-Duty at home.
